Corpus Christi Church Plant first Worship Service
January 15, 2017. The first service for the Community of Friends Church Plant in Corpus Christi, Texas, was held at my apartment on Sunday, January 15 at 11:00 a.m. We started with a prayer and singing some short choruses. We also sang a couple of songs for the children. I asked for prayer petition and had a short meditation. Present were Angie and her husband Josh (who I had written about connecting with before), Eliud and his wife Liz Ann and her two children Elias and Mina. A neighbor Lydia, who asked for prayer, was also present. Her two grandchildren joined her after the service. I had my brother-in-law Gilberto and my sister Elizabeth visiting that weekend. The children enjoyed themselves running around and having fun. I told the parents not to be concerned, that I had prepared my apartment to be child friendly. After the service, we had lunch together, I had made chicken, rice, beans and cake for dessert. We enjoyed our meal and there was good conversation. After the meal, Angie asked if I could give her a bible, I told her I would get her one. They all looked happy and said they would come the following Sunday.
I have started volunteering at the Christian Radio Station KBNJ 91.7. My job is to answer the phone taking birthday/anniversary wishes, prayer requests and calling people and informing them they won a contest. I believe this will be a good resource to making connections. I am there 9am-12pm and already I have met many wonderful people.
Keep praying for me and the Corpus Christi, Texas area as we work on making disciples.
Blessings
