New Growth Taking Many Forms at Camp Mennoscah
This spring, at Camp Mennoscah near Murdock, KS, we see evidence of new growth all around us, but especially in creation, construction, and commitment!
Creation: Each spring at camp, we try to conduct controlled burns in different sections of our prairie. While all appears to be lost in the charred remains, after several days of black earth, new life begins to poke through, adding shades of green to the camp landscape. Praise God for God’s provision in creation!
Construction: Camp Mennoscah has completed its kitchen renovation project! We have enlarged the kitchen, added new kitchen equipment, and built a covered entrance onto the dining hall. We still need to raise $220,000 for upcoming dining hall renovations. Praise God for generous donors and volunteers who have helped us to this point!
Commitment: A high school camper recently requested to have a gallon of Ninnescah River water sent to her church for her baptism. Camp Mennoscah has played such an important role in her journey of faith that she wanted camp to be involved in her baptism, even though it was taking place in the church sanctuary. Praise God for the new growth taking place in her life and many others who spend time at Camp Mennoscah!
If you or someone you know might be interested in attending summer youth camp or retreat, registration information can be found at campmennoscah.org. Come spend some time at camp reconnecting with God, Creation, Others, and Self!
