Salt and Light
Vacation Bible School is a new experience for me. I worked with kids before as a tutor but never really had a VBS experience. Doing VBS this summer gave me a glimpse of what I really wanna do in life. Just by leading worship, teaching the kids about God, and getting to know them makes me realize how I enjoy my time trying so hard to bring other people to God. I am currently majoring in nursing in Hesston college, and to be honest, before VBS the only reason why I chose nursing was because it is a good field to make a lot of money.
Doing VBS made me realize that life is not all about making money. Everything we do in life may seem to make us happy, but in the end, everything seems to fade away. True joy and satisfaction for our soul only comes from doing God’s work, that is, by glorifying God in every aspects of life. Realizing all these things, I think nursing would be a good field to work with people and be the salt and light to them. I am so grateful that now I have a better purpose for my future, more than just making money. These are the things that Vacation Bible Study had taught me during the summer. For that, I am truly grateful for this experience.
